After reading TNH's post today, I got an idea for a fun prank liable to get yourself booted from a salesroom of your local con.
Next time you see someone selling their vanity press books, buy a copy of the worst looking one you see. Get out your red pen, and stand right there, in front of their booth, and play "Spot the copyedit mistakes." Furiously underline the mistakes and laugh to yourself. Make a spectacle of it. For bonus points, mark up copyediting mistakes on the back cover.
Email me if you pull this. We'll score you based on how long you were able to pull this off without getting law enforcement called on you against how many mistakes you were able to find.
