Weekend Fishing Report

I'm getting good at this. I lost count how many fish I caught this weekend. Truthfully, only one was keeper size, but the river is toxic or something, so I didn't end up keeping him. Still, the little guys just love biting my hook, I swear.

It's fun to get out by the water and watch Mr. Muskrat and the other wildlife. This weekend, I discovered the large black and white kingfishers that like to go off after my bobber when I cast, but veer off just before they hit it. I don't know what's going through their little birdy heads, but they're pretty and fun to watch, so no complaints here.

Fishing for me is as much getting out and immersing myself in nature as it is about the sport. I feel much more balanced since I've taken fishing back up. It's a great activity to get me outside and interacting with my world. I'm getting a lot of audio book listening done also, which is just a bonus.

I haven't been getting much in the way of actual reading done because whenever I sit down to read, I fall asleep. It's almost a chronic problem. I can sit in front of a computer, reading and typing for hours, but I pick up a book, and its snoozeville in 15 minutes. Kind of irritating. Perhaps I need to down a bunch of caffeine before I try to read. Or maybe I need a really stiff-backed, uncomfortable chair...
