Mouse Can't Get Cancer

WESH.com - Health - Researchers Say They Can Cure Cancer In Mice

Three years ago, Wake Forest researchers discovered a mouse that could not get cancer no matter how hard they tried to give it the disease.

Now, they said white blood cells from that mouse's descendants were injected into ordinary mice with cancer and their disease was completely wiped out.

I don't know whether I would want to be the person whose white blood cells are the cure to cancer. On the one hand, you cure humanity of the worst disease we face as a species. On the other, you'll probably be milked like a Holstein for the rest of your life. And the one person I would have wanted most to save from cancer is already dead.

Yeah, I'm sometimes still bitter about that, especially given that it was more the treatment than the cancer that killed my dad. Chemo and radiation therapy are the equivalent of the heated glass jars and leeches phase of cancer medicine. By which I mean they are brutally primitive and soon to be replaced, I hope.
