Dead Media PC

Our 2 year old media PC appears to have completely crapped out and I don't think I can fix it. It would cost me around $1000 to replace it. I don't have $1000. I think the hard drive is okay, so we probably haven't lost our mp3s, but I am pretty sure that the windows boot is busted somehow and the mother board appears to be fried, judging by the fact that I cannot get into the bios to set it up to boot from a CD. We lost power today, and while I had surge protectors on it, it seems to have died anyway.

I feel utterly crushed now. Nothing defeats me like having a computer problem that I cannot fix. I used to do this for a living. Now I can't even fix my own computer. I just want to hibernate for a week.
