Recent and Ongoing Web Projects
My first wave of work on the group fiction blog project is done. I'll provide a link here to the site when it goes live on Monday. I'm pretty happy with how the design turned out, but of course now that I have the site finished, I have desires to do it differently. That's how it always goes. I will do a postmortem about the site next week when I have a little bit of time, talking about the decisions I made and the things I want to implement to make it even better.
I'm taking pictures and doing some website work for a local startup independent movie theatre. On the website. I'm just helping them figure out their content management system and helping them get some recent pictures online. It's going to be a great place to see a movie when they're done with construction, which will be very soon from the looks of things.
From what I have heard from Mike, the LaunchPad Astronomy Workshop continues to receive applicants. I highly recommend that you consider attending if you're interested in hard science fiction. And the weather in Laramie that time of the year is gorgeous. I promise it won't snow more than a day or two, and it never sticks for long. Seriously though, it will be quite pleasant, and the team Mike has will be doing some great stuff. I plan to make it up there to at least meet all the attendees.
And speaking of Mike, I believe I will be helping him release a free online anthology of hard science fiction in the future, so there's another project in the works. I am not sure when that one will be coming.
In case any of you reading this are interested in freelance web design work, my rate is $30 per hour, and I am available after the end of the month to work on smallish-to-medium-sized projects.
