Photo of the Day: Easter Lilly I
Evening came faster than I expected, and I didn't get to take photos before sundown. Luckily, Sarah brought home this giant potted plant from church, which she tells me is called an easter lilly. The dining room didn't make for a great place to take photos with the lights on, so I turned them off and aimed a flashlight overhead with a long exposure time. This is the result, and I'm quite pleased. I am really starting to understand why photographers lug around all those crazy lights and flashes.

It's such a lovely picture of one of my favorite flowers to draw. I can't remember, my oldest brother told me that the Easter Lily in Leonardo da Vinci's The Annunciation represents Christ himself or something like that. The blue on the petals makes me think of Mary's robes glowing onto the bloom. It's a remarkable picture, rather breathtaking. Keep lugging around all those lights.:)
