Photo of the Day: Cattails in the Sun
I took Saturday afternoon to tour a few of the nature areas in Fort Collins. This week, I'll be posting photos from that trip.
There are thousands of acres of open space here. The first place I visited was very typical for the mountains. Dry, with lots of cactus and weeds, and the largest prairie dog colony I have ever seen. Otherwise, not much to see. The wild flowers have barely begun to bloom.
The second place I visited was a man-made wetlands. I was a little disappointed with the variety of wildlife here, but I think it is just too early in the yea. I saw approximately 10,000 Canadian geese. Does anything eat geese? Can we genetically engineer something if not? Because they shit all over everything. I am not sure I stepped on actual dirt for my entire hike.
The cat tails looked nice, though, so here's one of those shots.
