Photo of the Day: The Canals
The canal boat trip we took was another one of the interesting parts of the trip I didn't expect before going, but quite enjoyed while we were there. I had no idea that the UK was crisscrossed with these manmade rivers, and that they had fallen into disuse and been subsequently rescued by hobbyists. Sarah and I both agreed that it would make a wonderful long hobby to rent one of these and drive it for weeks and weeks across the space between London and another city. Very leisurely, with the top speed being about 6 miles per hour.
I seem to remember a TV show that had someone living in a house boat? But maybe that was in Paris, not London. Anyway, our apartment actually overlooked one of the canals. I do wish they didn't look so filthy. There was always garbage floating in them, and geese, which are just another type of garbage if you live in Colorado. Seriously, we are infested. They're like pigeons here.
I feel like I have a better handle on my projects today. I got a lot of concepts for the media campaign done at work, and I've started the layout for the movie theatre site. The flash demo has another draft done, which I suspect my boss and I will review today and look for further tweaks to perform. And I haven't been working myself to death to achieve it. We polished of a whole season of Spaced last night (the TV show where the Shawn of the Dead folks got their start. I don't remember seeing Jessica in any of the movies though. I need t IMDB her and see what she's been up to since).
Now, time for breakfast.
