Help Me Find or Create My Dream Job

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I have decided that I have a very good idea as to what I want for a day job. I have a dream job, and I would like you all to be on the lookout to help me create it, if you could. I don't think this dream job exists at the moment, but I think it should, for the benefit of a future employer, and I think it's possible that it could come into existence. If it does, I want to be considered.

I would like to be a full-time inhouse web designer for a major science fiction publisher. I would like to spend all of my time developing book and author websites. I could see a plan where I developed 12-24 websites a year for the publisher, designing marketing plans that are intended to create online buzz (of the good kind) for their upcoming catalog. I have dozens and dozens of ideas about what these websites can do, and look like, to help sell books. Widgets, podcasts, alternate reality games, and so on-- I have entire ecologies in my head, years worth of good ideas. Right now, I am getting regular work as a freelancer designing these things, but I think a publisher could put me to very good use. I work hard. I know Flash well enough that I could create some pretty amazing things, and I would get better with practice.

I would not need to relocate to New York City. I would not need an office. I would need this: a $50,000 a year salary, and a $10,000 a year budget to hire the occasional illustrator or buy necessary software. That's it. If you want to fly me into the publishing office once or twice a year to meet with the team and discuss ideas, I would be more than happy, but I work well on my own and can take a lot of direction via phone and email.

This is what I'm passionate about besides writing. This, I think is what I could spend my days doing and not feel like I am wasting my time for a company that sells something I do not think helps the world. This would give me career satisfaction.

So, friends, readers, random passerby? If you know a publisher/editor that needs someone who understands the web and is hungry to put his skills to work full time, mention me. If you're a publisher/editor reading this, email me and we'll discuss things. I am flexible to all of the above. Let's talk. Let's take your catalog online in ways no one has done before. You can see my portfolio here, but I also have a large portfolio of work from the current full time job that is available on request.

I am more than happy to take freelance work of this nature as well. Contact me if you need a project done quickly and effectively. As above, see my portfolio. I am booked through July at the moment, but can take work after that if you're willing to wait a bit.
