Photo of the Day: A mosquito's worst nightmare.

The order Odonata may be my favorite order of Insects. They are friendly. They don't bite people. And as an order, they are more responsible for the death of mosquitoes than almost any other group of animals on the planet.

Here's what is probably a damselfly but maybe a dragonfly, resting on a stem at the end of a hot day. Could we selectively breed/engineer these things so they hover around me while I am out taking pictures? Like some kind of aerial defense force, protecting my sweet, sweet blood from the enemy?

Boy, that would be cool!
