Read: A Game of Thrones

I am now addicted to an epic fantasy series. Hell is quite frosty tonight.

I have John Joseph Adams to thank for this. He sent me A Game of Throne for my birthday. I had it on my amazon wishlist, which isn't really a wishlist so much as it is "books I have heard about that I should check out." I don't remember adding the George R.R. Martin tome to my list. But it must have been on there, so he says.

It's just too bloody well written. I'm hooked into the lives of these characters. And it's true what they say-- Martin does not flinch away from inflicting great pain on his characters. Oh no. He seems to possibly delight in killing them off. I approve.

I can't wait for the next one. I might pick it up next week...
