Read: Fool for Love by Sam Shepherd

I skipped board game night tonight so I could lay around and listen to Serenity and read this play. I found it a bit offputting at first, because of the intensity of the tension and conflict between the two main characters. Slowly, as I grew to understand them as characters, I found myself drawn in. And the ending is just perfect--absolutely perfect. Also: incest FTW! Some topics, despite being creepy, are intensely fascinating in a drama. Incest appears to be one of them. I never forget a movie or play that features it. I think it's one of the few taboos I still hold to.

I think that's the biggest lesson I learned here. If I want to imbue a story with a "cant-look-away-from-the-train-wreck" creepiness, have an incestuous relationship in it.

Also, I really hate cowboys in plays.
