My Least Favorite Blunder

I hate it when I hit on an idea for a SF story that seems really original and awesome, and after digging around on the web, I find out someone else has used the basic idea for a novel that did rather well (but I never got around to reading).

Damn, you Greg Bear! And damn every one of the dozen people to write sequels to War of the Worlds although the existence of those works is less problematic.

Sigh. Maybe I should just write the damn story and see if it's any good despite all that.

In other news, I have the Cold from Hell.
